Broken

Behind closed doors is how it should stay
But nothing that works ever stays that way
To yank the wretched secrets from their fiery tomb
Would be like ripping a child from its mother's womb
It wouldn't be intentional, the invading of my life
But the damage would be done with a cut of a knife
They would pick the lock ever so gently
And lay me there, broken, for all the world to see.
